Spinal and extremity adjustments
Pain is present among millions of people today because it is caused by so many different conditions. Chiropractic adjustments are the cornerstone of any chiropractic office. Adjustments, also referred to as manipulations or manipulative therapy, is a type of hands on treatment that restores normal movement to joints with abnormally restricted movements. Restricted, inflammed joints lead to changes in the nerve impulses that travel from the bones, joints and muscles up to the brain. This cause the brain to send altered signals back to the those same bones, joints and muscles. These altered signals do not allow the these areas to function optimally and leave them uncoordinated and weaker than they normally would be.
To help restore this function, adjustments are applied to the spine and also the extremities. These are the joints of the rest of the body, such as your arms, legs and so on.
Laser Therapy
Low level laser therapy is a non-invasive, pain free treatment that uses low power laser to stimulate biochemical changes in cells. It’s been shown to reduce inflammation and swelling. It promotes pain relief and speeds healing in a wide variety of ailments including:
- Disc problems like a herniated disc or pinched nerve
- Tendinitis
- Repetitive motion injuries like carpal tunnel syndrome
- Knee pain
- Shoulder pain
- Elbow pain
- Wrist pain
- Leg pain
- Osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis pain
- Sports injuries
- Fibromyalgia pain
- Plantar fasciitis
IASTM - Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization
Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) is a type of manual therapy commonly used by chiropractors. This type of treatment can be beneficial for many people with movement restrictions, tension, and pain.
IASTM is an intervention that includes using specialized tools to manipulate the skin, myofascia, muscles, and tendons to provide a mobilizing effect to scar tissue and myofascial adhesions.
Kinesiotaping
Kinesiotaping is a treatment designed to help reduce pain, support weak muscles and joint and protect against injury. It can applied to almost all muscles and joints to provide long lasting support.
It involves using an elastic tape that is applied over the skin. When the tape is applied to your body, it recoils slightly, gently lifting your skin. It is believed that this helps to create a microscopic space between your skin and the tissues underneath it. The tape’s medical-grade adhesive is also water-resistant and strong enough to stay on for three to five days, even while you work out or take showers.
PEMF
Pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapy can non-invasively treat a variety of conditions by delivering electric and magnetic fields to tissues via inductive coils. The electromagnetic fields generated by these devices have been found to affect a variety of biological processes.
Increasing clinical evidence supports the use of PEMF therapy in humans for specific clinical indications including bone healing, wound healing, osteoarthritis and inflammation, and treatment of post-operative pain and edema.
